August Astrology Forecast: Mental Revolution, Recalibration & Visionary Realism

As I write this in late July, my mind is blown. Uranus has entered Gemini, and everything has changed.

Mr Aquarius decided (naturally, with my agreement) that we should move house. The culprit? An insidious patch of mould creeping through the ceiling. Why not just clean it? Because our rental apartment was in a 1960s building, with that cement spackle that cannot be cleaned, and mould spores don’t die: they haunt you like a villain in a horror movie. And like in those movies, you either let the villain win or change the story.
So we moved. During school holidays. While I was also having some major astrological milestones! I gave my first presentation for the Organisation of Professional Astrology and passed my second Peer Group review for certification from the same organisation. How Uranus in Gemini is that? Even though I’d planned those milestones for months, I had no idea we’d be moving at the same time. Thankfully, it all went smoothly. Now, I’m wondering: what does August have in store?
August carries a strong Aquarian signature, guiding us through a month of mental evolution and energetic recalibration.
On the 4th August, Pallas Athena re-enters Aquarius. We’re invited to sharpen our minds and problem-solving skills. Imagine watching a video on black holes, then trying to understand the maths behind it, your brain starts to ache, but you ‘feel’ it expanding. That’s the vibe. Expect themes of reform, justice, and mental clarity. Emotionally detaching can help protect our energy, but let’s not lose our hearts in the process.
As Mars enters Libra on 7th August, we’ll aim to appear diplomatic and fair, but watch out for passive-aggressiveness. The key is to be tactful and kind in assertiveness. Frustration might surface from indecision, so take your time but also act. He also opposes Saturn for a few days, so we should take a deep breath with what is presented to us before acting.
The 9th of August is astrologically charged. Mars trines Uranus and opposes Saturn and Neptune, issuing a wake-up call that shakes us from our illusions. Pluto in Aquarius, in retrograde, supports this shift of new insights that burst through, and flexibility is your best ally.
The Full Moon in Aquarius (conjunct retrograde Pallas Athena, square to Juno and Vesta, sextile to Ceres) further intensifies this awakening. We're called to face our inner goddess and break free from outdated obligations. This lunation invites recommitment to our unique, unconventional path.
Just as we take the first steps into this new vision, clarity returns with Mercury stationing direct on 11th August. Simmering ideas come to life — our confidence in communication, creation, and self-expression increases. Just don’t talk over others in your excitement!
Ceres in Aries goes retrograde on 13th August, inviting us to re-evaluate how we nourish ourselves and others. Reclaiming autonomy in caregiving and receiving becomes a priority.
As the Sun enters Virgo this month, we also have the New Moon in Virgo on 23rd August. Happy birthday to all Virgos! This New Moon squares Uranus and forms a Yod with Pluto and Saturn/Neptune. There’s a sharp moment of realisation about what we’re meant to do. It reminds me of that old science-world adage: ‘publish or perish’. If you didn’t produce regular peer-reviewed research, your career floundered. Likewise, if we don’t get honest about what’s no longer working or sustainable, we risk staying stuck. This New Moon urges us to embrace radical simplicity with small changes that revolutionise our lives. And it is doable as Mercury exits its shadow phase on 25th August. Now we truly move forward. All the rethinking, regrouping, and re-strategising since July starts to gain momentum.
Our hearts roar to life as Venus enters Leo on 26th August. Love grows louder, creativity shines, and bold self-expression takes centre stage. As the month closes, both Pluto and the Moon go out of bounds. Think of a cheeky child on a playground told to stay out of a certain area. What do they do? Head straight there, of course. That’s the energy. These out-of-bounds planets encourage us to explore the forbidden corners of our psyche. It could be cathartic, chaotic, or both, depending on how deeply we’ve engaged in our shadow work.
Overall, August is a month of mental revolution, visionary realism, and personal recalibration. The Full Moon invites collective evolution, while the Virgo New Moon clears space for soul-aligned systems. Clarity comes after the shake-up. Stay curious. Stay grounded. Stay awake.
See you next month!
Astrological Blessings,

P.S. This month is also the month my youngest, Missy Leo, turns 5! She will more than ever say ‘Ta-da!’ when she blows out her candles this month. Where did the time go? Wasn’t she just crawling yesterday?
