Scorpio’s Alchemy and the Sacred Fire of November

November opens the door to transformation. It’s a month of fire and reflection, where Mars blazes into Sagittarius and Mercury turns inward in Scorpio. The sky reminds us that growth happens when we face what we’ve avoided, tend our inner flame, and let truth guide our next steps. This is a time to reclaim power, refine purpose, and remember that devotion itself can be revolutionary.

November arrives like an ember glowing beneath the ashes. What has been scorched in recent months begins to whisper its lessons, asking softly: what truth is ready to set you free? This is the month where we start to glimpse the embers of the new year, still distant, but glowing with promise. The spark of what’s to come is already stirring beneath the surface.

On 5th November, Mars bursts into Sagittarius, igniting our desire to move forward just as Mercury begins to slow down in preparation for its upcoming retrograde. It’s the classic paradox: the soul wants to fly, but the mind says, 'Wait, something’s still unfinished.'

The very next day, on 6th November, the Full Moon in Taurus asks us to take a practical approach to the shifting landscape. The Moon’s square to Pallas Athena in Aquarius suggests that growth now lies outside our comfort zone. This is the cue to go where you feel uneasy. That’s where the magic happens. Even small acts of honesty can be liberating, like really seeing yourself in the mirror, freckles, laugh lines, and all, and admitting what you’ve been avoiding. This Moon illuminates what’s been left unacknowledged, helping us meet it with compassion rather than resistance.

As Venus enters Scorpio on 7th November, intimacy deepens and hidden truths surface. The next day, Uranus stations retrograde in Taurus, adding electricity to the emotional current. There’s revision here too. Revisiting what we’ve refused to see, facing it, and freeing ourselves through that honesty. This is Uranus’ final full retrograde in Taurus for most of us in this lifetime (unless you plan to be here again or are still around in 84 years!). Reflect on what you’ve learned over the past few years about self-worth, resources, and power. Where have you undervalued yourself? Where have you given away your autonomy? Take it back. Revise. Reclaim. Uranus’ retrograde prepares us for the next great adventure as it moves toward Gemini in 2026, a shift from security to curiosity, from holding ground to expanding mind.

Amid all this flux, Vesta enters Capricorn on 15th November, bringing the grounding presence we need. Where Mars races and Mercury retraces, Vesta steadies. She is the goddess of devotion, discipline, and the quiet sacredness of daily ritual. Her presence is a balm as Mercury retrograde in Scorpio begins on 19 November. This retrograde isn’t about chaos; it’s an invitation to go deep. It speaks in whispers, not headlines. It asks us to listen beneath the noise, to what we’ve avoided saying, to what still aches to be understood. In Scorpio, Mercury becomes the psychologist, the detective, the alchemist of thought. Old words resurface, messages find you 'by chance,' and half-forgotten feelings bubble up through the cracks of routine. You may dream vividly, stumble across old journals, or rediscover songs that once carried meaning. These aren’t ghosts, they’re guides. When you pause before reacting, breathe before speaking, you create space for transformation. This isn’t a retrograde that wants fixing, it’s a retrograde that wants truth.

The New Moon in Scorpio on 20th November shows us how to do just that. It forms, albeit briefly, a Mystic Rectangle with Uranus, Neptune, and the IC, inviting a deep emotional reset. Scorpio asks us to surrender control. Uranus and Neptune remind us that evolution is rarely logical; it’s luminous. We shed another skin. We soften into the unknown. By the time the Sun strides into Sagittarius on 22nd November (Happy Birthday to all Sagittarians!), the air feels lighter, clearer. We’ve faced our shadows, and now we’re ready to move with renewed vision and courage.

On 25th November, Ceres turns direct in Aries, awakening the Mother Archetype in fire. She reminds us that nourishment isn’t always soft; it’s also courageous. Ceres’ retrograde has been a long inward stretch, asking how we nurture, where we withhold, and whether our giving has turned into depletion. Now, as she moves forward, she calls for mothering as reclamation, not sacrifice. What must you feed within yourself before you can feed others? Aries energy urges bold, life-affirming action, tending to what restores your vitality, whether that’s a project, a ritual, or simply saying yes to joy again.

As November closes, Ceres briefly connects with Vesta in Capricorn, creating a moment of divine balance. Ceres nurtures and Vesta sustains. Together, they remind us that care is both emotional and structural, one lights the fire, while the other keeps it burning safely.

This is the essence of the month’s alchemy: to face what’s been hidden, to devote ourselves to the work of healing, and to carry the sacred flame forward into the light of what’s next.

See you next month!

Astrological blessings,
