Jupiter conjunct Uranus - Why this is Huge

On 21st April 2024, at 11:36 am AEST, two planets 14.01 AU (Astronomical Units; 1.3 billion miles) apart will be coming together in the skies as seen from Earth. They are Jupiter and Uranus. These two planets ‘meet’ for coffee every 13.81 years. The last time they met together in the sky was on 8th June 2010 in Aries (or rather Cafe Aries - continue to see what I mean 🙃).

I talked about this briefly in my monthly forecast blog post. Yet I want to engage my Oriental Planet, Pluto (the planet that drags my Sun in my chart across the sky), and look into it further.

Let’s start with Uranus. Uranus stays in a sign for about seven years. This planet has been in the sign of Taurus since May 2018. It will be there for a couple more years, but since his trek through this sign started, we have experienced some shocks in our lives. Taurus is about the material realm, beauty, and sustainability. It is about finances, self-esteem and feeling secure. Since Uranus has been in this sign, we have been experiencing some shocks over the years in these facets of our lives. Upheavals that indicate we have not been working sustainably to date. Things need to change to keep up with the times.

Jupiter has been in the sign of Taurus since May last year. Jupiter takes 12 months to traverse a sign and will move into the sign of Gemini next month. Jupiter in Taurus is all about the expansion of finances and material belongings. He is about expansion, travel, faith and education. Since May 2023, we have seen an expansion in travel as borders are all open.

Since going into direct motion at the end of 2023, Jupiter has gradually sped up and will traverse half the sign of Taurus in just a few weeks rather than months. As he speeds up, he will catch up to Uranus.

The coming together of the planets, known as a conjunction, is how they appear to us from our home on planet Earth. They will line up, and when they do, they begin a synodic cycle. A synodic cycle means the time it takes for two planets to complete a revolution of the Sun or rather a cycle after meeting in the skies before they meet again. Jupiter meets for a coffee in our solar system (a different cafe each time. Last time, it was in Cafe Aries, and this month in Cafe Taurus), then takes off with the energy and memory of a conversation during this meeting for the next 13.81 years. Every time they relate to each other in trine, square, or opposition aspects, their interaction will hark back to April 2024 in the Cafe Taurus meeting. Each aspect, adds its flavour to their future interactions that echo from the meeting, across the years as echoes of what is to come.

So what may this meeting entail?

When Jupiter comes together with Uranus, he expands on Uranus’ themes and energy. For example, where Uranus represents rebellion and uniqueness, Jupiter will expand on that. This is a good alignment for progressive change. This is where we can break from the old and restrictive to bring freedom from limiting beliefs and societal norms.

We may start to question all these norms we’ve become accustomed to. Innovative ideas, scientific breakthroughs, and paradigm shifts are well highlighted. It is a time of increased revolution away from the old to jump to a higher energy level of evolution for humanity. For example, the release of the movies Barbie and Oppenheimer was when Jupiter and Uranus came into a close orb to each other last year. If these movies were released at any other time, they probably would have gone straight to video (I’m showing my age here) or straight to a streaming service and not promoted much. Instead, Uranus identified their unique nature, and Jupiter ensured they soared through the stratosphere of Hollywood success.

That is what Jupiter and Uranus can do together. See what is unique and make sure it's amplified. There may be an expansion of financial issues. To further understand what this conjunction can entail, we see that the following events happened in the past Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus conjunctions:

1609: Kepler proposes the laws of the planets moving around the Sun, not the Earth

1775 & 1789: French and American revolutions.

1858: Charles Darwin’s 'The Origin of the Species' was written

1903: The Wright brothers invented and completed the first motor-operated aeroplane flight

1927: Charles Lindbergh completed the first solo cross-Atlantic flight

1941: USA pulled into WWII

1969: Stonewall Riots and Woodstock

1996-97: Dolly, the cloned sheep, was born

Will this conjunction necessarily mean anything ominous? Not at all as with the knowledge of astrology and history, forearmed is forewarned. We can engage in soaring through our stratospheres to bring positive and amazing evolution to our lives and humanity as a collective.

This conjunction brings a message that now is the time.

A big time of change.

And that’s why this conjunction is huge.

Until next month,

Astrological blessings,

Georgina xxx
