Shake it off & bounce toward your future!

Happy New Year and welcome to February 2024! Of course, since the last forecast I could go on about how fast the time passed, but then again, has it?

To be honest, it couldn’t come fast enough. I thought that with my son being on school holidays, I was going to rest more. I was wrong. I realised you add another hat to the myriad that gets added when you become a mother, Child Entertainer. There were only so many museums, galleries, books, shows, languages (I’m trying to teach him Greek while his brain is a sponge), parks, beach visits, and bubble-blowing sessions you can do.

I enjoyed every minute of it, except for the tantrums ha! I'm finding that I'm reliving and making up for things I missed out on as a child. How Moon in Capricorn is that?

As you are reading this, I’ll be taking my son to his first day at his new school as he starts Year 1. I'll probably miss him a minute later and be wondering all day, how he's faring until school ends for the day.

Looking back, over the break, we also celebrated his birthday. He has shown a newfound independence that I am enjoying. Mr Aquarius is showing new skills and talents. He is transforming into a boy with his thoughts and opinions. It's delightful to witness. And with Pluto finally making his way into Aquarius last month, I’m not surprised (or about the tantrums). The end of January has afforded February to be the first month in a while when all the planets are direct. Finally, we can feel like ourselves again while dipping our feet into this new Plutonian era.

Over the last few months, we had the chance to review things in our lives, and now we have a better idea of what we want. So now is the time to charge ahead!

February isn't too eventful except for the New and Full Moons this month which is the focus of this forecast.

The New Moon in Aquarius on 10th/11th February, squares Uranus in Taurus. If you do New Moon wishes every month, have a look at the last New Moon in Aquarius in January 2023. How have things panned out for you since then? Did anything manifest? If not why? It is time to discern whether they didn’t manifest because it wasn’t meant to be, as opposed to not going about it the way you were meant to go about it.

This New Moon is inviting us to look at things like the Hanged Man in Tarot. Look at things from another perspective. Or, as the quick-witted Universe will say, 'Wrong way, try again numbnut!’ It is time to do things differently. The old way doesn't serve us anymore. This will be more evident during this month's Full Moon which I will get to in a bit.

With the New Moon, we come to the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. Happy Lunar New Year! While I don’t celebrate, many friends of mine do. So I’m looking forward to visiting the Nan Tien Temple in Wollongong (in New South Wales for our international readers) to commemorate the occasion. The New Moon will happen after the asteroids, Pallas Athena moves into Sagittarius, and Ceres moves into Capricorn.

The asteroids are changing signs that bring a sense of adventure with a sense of resentment and restraint. Sounds a bit oxymoronic, but bear with me while I explain.

When Ceres moves into Capricorn (and will be here for most of the year) she will invite us to examine our childhood. She makes us look at how we were nurtured. Either from ourselves, our loved ones, or our parents. If we discover, through an a-ha moment of realisation, that the love and nurturance came with conditions, we may find ourselves falling through the rabbit hole like Alice in Wonderland. But Pallas Athena in Sagittarius will be butting in and stopping us from having a pity party.

Have you seen the Tim Burton adaptation of Alice in Wonderland? Remember when Alice falls down the rabbit hole and sees a smorgasbord of things like pianos, trumpets, and bookshelves? When the asteroids make their move, we will want to sit and mope. We’ll find ourselves tumbling down in disbelief questioning why we were brought up as we were. What did we do wrong?  When then a bed appears, like the bed in that rabbit hole in the movie. and we bounce off it in another direction. Where are we heading? We don’t know. And that is Pallas' Sagittarian sense of adventure. She is commanding us (nicely and not asking us either) to shake it off, learn our lessons, and go where we are meant to go.

The New Moon this month brings a deep examination of the past. It is time to flip the bird to it and move in a new direction!

Now, a word about Valentine’s Day. Mars will move into the sign of Aquarius on this day. We may not want to celebrate the day or cuddle up to anyone. We may even feel we want to be on our own or say something without tact. Keep that in mind. On the other hand, we may feel like doing something kinky to add spark and passion to our lives. You never know with Aquarius.

This time of year, I also always encourage singletons to remember that loved-up couples aren’t all having a great night out. Some are working, others are mopping up infant and toddler bodily excrements while pining for days of sleep and uninterrupted meal times. And being able to watch a movie in one session, also uninterrupted. I don’t mean to poopoo the day, but it is a commercial construct based on the death of a saint. So ignore the pressure to be romantic. We can do that any time and every day of the year! Well, if you don’t have young kids, mostly ha!

On the 17th of February, we will find Venus moving into Aquarius. We will feel more outgoing and want to spend time with our friends instead before the Sun moves into the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces.

Happy Birthday, Pisceans!

You will get a lovely burst of energy for the next 12 months. And those with Pisces rising and Piscean Moon’s will get a similar burst, too. During this Piscean season, I love to tap into my intuition more. I look for the signs that would be harder to find during the rest of the year.

Before I finish up, let's talk about the Full Moon in Virgo which opposes a solar conjunction with Mercury and Saturn, both in Pisces. Mercury disposits the Moon (in non-astrology speak, this means that Mercury is ruling the Moon. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo, and as the Moon is in Virgo, Mercury is in charge of the Moon for a bit) so we have an extra bridge to link the two together.

During this Full Moon, things may be topsy-turvy or weirder than usual. We may feel like we are going 'round the twist. Remember the show Round The Twist? It was set at a lighthouse and revolved around a family experiencing supernatural things in every episode. During this Piscean and Full Moon season, expect the unexpected. Expect to say ‘What the…?’ more often than usual. Expect more bumps in the road and in the night. Neptune is still in Pisces. Expect things to be as clear as mud but sometimes Neptune can bring clarity in the night like a distant lighthouse. It can sometimes be a beacon of light and help you. With Hygeia in Pisces too try to be realistic about your health and what is good for you and what isn't.

What do you think about February? It looks OK. As schools go back in the Southern Hemisphere, many parents (like me) will expel a sigh of relief for a few hours each day.

Time to get Master Aquarius to school. He's about to get a Plutonian awakening, but this Astro-Mumma has got his back.

And remember, all the planets are going direct now. They are now our Astro-Mumma's at our back when things are a bit uncertain this month.

Expect the unexpected and enjoy!

Astrological blessings,

Georgina xxx
